For our self-marketing project in my third year of university, I was working on samples for a tarot deck.
The idea is that I would send out a randomly picked sample card along with an illustrated informational card to art directors/editors, and it would be as though they were getting their own mini tarot reading.
However, I really didn't want to send out any foreboding (and perhaps ominous) cards to unsuspecting people whom I may be trying to creatively win over, so I chose a specific grab of my favourite insightful cards from the traditional tarot and attempted to redesign them.
The main cards I finally chose were Strength, The Hierophant, The Hermit and Temperance. However, I did include The Hanged Man that I designed below just because I liked how it turned out so much.
